Prisons department wants more money to deal with rising medical costs.

The state agency that operates Ohio's prisons is making an emergency request to transfer funds to pay for medical care for prisoners. In an interview with Ohio Public Radio's Jo Ingles, the corrections department's Andrea Dean explains the agency is spending more than expected on medical care. The prison system spend nearly six million dollars alone on drugs last year.
