The Ohio House and Senate have passed a bill that will make reforms at the Bureau of Workers' Compensation, the state agency that has lost millions of dollars in questionable investments in recent years. The measure passed with most Republicans voting for it, and most Democrats voting against it. Rep. Chris Redfern (D-Catawba Island) says this legislation makes Ohio workers pay for bad investment decisions by the B W C in the past.
Rep. Steve Bueher (R-Delta) says this bill is not an attempt by the state to cut payments to injured workers to recoup money for the bureau.
Governor Taft is expected to sign the B W C reform bill into law. |
