A much larger protest shut down the streets surrounding Philadelphia City Hall on Tuesday afternoon. Hundreds of people from groups ranging from Black Lives Matter to Code Pink to those concerned about Palestinian rights, healthcare, criminal justice reform and other causes came together for a big demonstration that snarled traffic for several hours during rush hour. The protest was peaceful, and like in Cleveland, police on bicycles surrounded the huge group but kept a distance.
