The Powerball jackpot is up to $1.5 billion dollars for the big drawing Wednesday night.
The Ohio Lottery’s Danielle Frizzi-Babb doesn’t think the word “huge” is the best word to describe the current Powerball jackpot. “Huge might be an understatement. We were just talking about it a minute ago and that is just one insane amount of money,” Frizzi-Babb said.
The $1.5 billion dollar jackpot is the largest in the nation’s history. The chance of picking the winning numbers is about one in 300 million, but Frizzi-Babb said there are two tickets out there from Saturday’s drawing that are worth a $1 million dollars each. Forty-four states and Washington D.C. participate in Powerball, and Ohio is one of six states where the winner can remain anonymous.
