Supporters of a Republican-backed bill that would ban drag performers from doing shows in public places within view of children testified before an Ohio House committee Wednesday.

The bill, which is supported by most of the Republicans in the GOP-dominated Ohio House, would make it illegal for drag performers to exhibit nudity or perform activities that appeal to "a prurient interest" in front of children under 18 years old.

Bellefontaine residents want to classify drag performance as adult entertainment. It would impact ‘The Olive Tree’, the only gay bar in Logan County.
